HOUSTON -- Statoil has awarded FMC Technologies a $2-million contract to manufacture and supply subsea production equipment for the Marulk field. The award is a call-off from an existing frame agreement.

The Marulk field is in the Norwegian Sea, approximately 18 mi (30 km) southwest of the Norne field at a water depth of 1,200 ft (365 m). The initial development will consist of two wells tied back to the FPSO Norne. FMC’s scope of supply includes the manufacture of two subsea trees, one manifold, one template, subsea control modules, and associated topside controls and connection equipment.

FMC will manufacture and assemble the systems in Kongsberg, Norway and Dunfermline, UK. Initial deliveries are scheduled for 2Q 2011.
