STAVANGER< Norway -- Statoil has contracted Wood Group Engineering (North Sea) for feasibility and conceptual studies for two subsea field developments in the Norwegian Sea.

Under the terms of the $3.68 million (£2 million) contract, Wood Group will evaluate options for topsides modifications on the Aasgard A and Kristin floating production platforms, and verify the alternatives required for concept selection. The subsea fields are Trestakk, likely to be tied in to Aasgard, and Morvins, which could be tied back to either platform.
