Offshore staff

(Aberdeen) Talisman Expro (formerly Paladin Expro) has awarded Subsea 7 contractor a $25 m contract relating to its Blane development in the North Sea. The work will involve fabricating, installing and commissioning tie-in spool pieces for a 10-in. production pipeline, an 8-in. water injection line, and a 4-in. gas lift line.

This equipment will be installed both at the Blane drill center on the UK side of the North Sea median line, and at the BP-operated host Ula platform on the Norwegian side. Subsea 7 will also provide the riser caisson and subsea isolation valve structure, as well as installing a 33-km control umbilical. Water depths range from 70-75m. Operations are already under way and should be completed late-2006.
