Offshore staff

(Aberdeen) Subsea contractor Subsea 7 has been granted a $160 m-plus extension to a contract awarded by BP this January. The contract, which now runs through to end-December 2011, covers work mainly on BP's producing fields West of Shetland.

Subsea 7 will provide a deepwater construction vessel supported by its Hercules work class ROVs, undertaking a rolling program of construction, inspection, repair and maintenance tasks. The contractor has been working in this area for BP since the initial development of the Foinaven field in the 1990s.
