Link Weld Engineering to deliver subsea tie-in spools for Pluto LNG

Acergy Australia has awarded Link Weld Engineering a $10 million contract for the fabrication of subsea tie-in spools for Woodside's Pluto LNG project.

PERTH -- Acergy Australia has awarded Link Weld Engineering a $10 million contract for the fabrication of subsea tie-in spools for Woodside's Pluto LNG project.

The scope of work involves the fabrication of 31 spools, for both deepwater and shallow water (platform) application, ranging in sizes from 2 to 36 in. (5 to 91 cm). Also included is the fabrication and assembly of associated spreader beams.

Under the scope, Link Weld will assume responsibility for overall project management that includes all aspects of engineering and fabrication encompassing specialized welding, non-destructive testing, gauging, cleaning, hydrotesting, coating, dimensional control surveying, and final assembly in preparation for loadout.
