BERGEN, Norway -- OCTIO Group has completed a test of its new permanent reservoir monitoring system offshore Haugesund, Norway. The system features 4D sensors that are installed permanently in order to better visualize the dynamic behavior of the oil and gas reservoirs for increased production.

The test was designed to demonstrate the system’s performance (Vector Fidelity) in both trenched (buried in the seabed) and un-trenched mode and with different surface coupling solutions. The results of this test will be used to enhance deployment methods with the goal of reducing the installation cost and secure a safe and fast system deployment, the company says.

“This test marks our transition from being an R&D company to become an integrated service company with focus on operation and market growth,” says Bjarte Fagerås, CEO of OCTIO Group. “In parallel with the commercialization of the technology we are now establishing offices in Houston and Brazil to strengthen our presence in these two emerging markets for 4D operations.”
