PARIS-- BP Exploration and Production has awarded Technip a lumpsum contract for the Isabela project in the Gulf of Mexico. The contract covers project management, engineering, fabrication, and installation of pipe-in-pipe flowlines, steel catenary risers, and subsea equipment.
The project is a subsea tie-back to the semisubmersible platform Na Kika in water depths of approximately 6,300 ft (1,920 m).
Technip’s operating center in Houston, Texas, will execute the contract. Flowlines and risers will be welded at the group’s spoolbase in Mobile, Alabama. Offshore installation is scheduled for completion in 3Q 2010 using Technip’s deepwater pipelay vessel Deep Blue.
