OSLO -- Petrobras has awarded Aker Solutions a $37-million contract to supply eight Mobo subsea boosting systems and one emergency valve (ESDV) for the Jubarte field in the Campos basin, offshore Brazil.

The project is similar to one awarded by Petrobras in 2007, Aker says. The new project’s scope is improved to optimize oil production with changes in flowlines to reduce pressure loss. Pressure in the pump has increased from 3,600 to 5,000 psi. The company also plans to change valves, pipes, and structures, and include nine new tools to support installation.

The equipment will be manufactured in Curitiba, Brazil.
