Statoil commissions Åsgard subsea compression structures

Statoil has contracted Bergen Group Rosenberg to fabricate subsea structures for the Åsgard subsea compression project in the Norwegian Sea.

BERGEN, Norway –Statoil has contracted Bergen Group Rosenberg to fabricate subsea structures for the Åsgardsubsea compression project in the Norwegian Sea.

The $8.6-million contract calls for 12 off pipeline end manifold (PLEM) structures and one riser base, with a total estimated weight of 850 metric tons (937 tons).
 
Bergen Group will provide project management, shop engineering, planning and work preparation, procurement, fabrication, and testing of the structures. Final delivery is scheduled for May 2013.
 
The project will be organized from Buøy, Stavanger.
