ABERDEEN, UK -- ITF and Subsea UK have signed an agreement to implement a national strategy to develop subsea technology. The two non-profit industry bodies are to combine efforts to ensure that the subsea supply chain can meet the future technology needs of the oil and gas industry.

"Our aim is to define and implement a national strategy for subsea technology development which meets the needs of the oil and gas operators and maximizes the potential of the UK Subsea service sector," says Neil Poxon, ITF's MD.

"The UK currently leads the world in subsea technology and field development," says David Pridden, Subsea UK's chief executive. "By partnering with ITF we will be able to better identify the needs of the operators and ensure that our industry delivers what is needed now and in the future."
