LYSAKER, Norway – Aker Kværner has launches the PodEx module that integrates new functions and instrumentation into an existing subsea control system.
The PodEx uses spare subsea electrical circuitry or coexistent power to send additional well and reservoir data to a topside acquisition system for analysis.
"This new solution is in sharp contrast to previous, more complex alternatives, which have required either changing or redesigning the original control system," says Erik Taule, acting senior VP of Aftermarket, Aker Kværner Subsea. PodEx also can be combined with control systems from any manufacturer.
