StatoilHydro gets Morvin approval

StatoilHydro has received official approval of its Plan for Development and Operation of Morvin field in the Norwegian Sea.

STAVANGER, Norway –StatoilHydro has received official approval of its Plan for Development and Operation of Morvin field in the Norwegian Sea.

The NOK 8.7 billion ($1.69 billion) PDO field is 15 km (9 mi) northwest of Asgard. First oil is scheduled for summer of 2010, reaching a maximum of 27,000 boe/d.

StatoilHydro has awarded Aker Solutions the subsea production system contract. Subsea templates and tubing are scheduled for installation this summer.

Operator StatoilHydro has 64% of the license, with Eni holding 30% and Total 6%.
