BP Angola has awarded Aker Subsea AS a frame contract to manufacture and deliver subsea umbilicals to it's PSVM ultra-deepwater field development offshore Angola.

LYSAKER, Norway -- BP Angola has awarded Aker Subsea AS a frame contract to manufacture and deliver subsea umbilicals to it's PSVM ultra-deepwater field development offshore Angola. The initial contract totals approximately NOK 360 million ($69.8 million).
The contract is for 48 km (30 mi) of steel-tube umbilicals. The dynamic section of the umbilicals will use Aker's patented carbon fiber rod technology, developed for deepwater and ultra-deepwater conditions.
Aker's facility in Moss, Norway will manufacture the umbilicals. Delivery is scheduled for 3Q and 4Q 2010.
Sociedade Nacional de Combustíveis de Angola (Sonangol) is the concessionaire of block 31. BP operates the block.
