HOUSTON -- Hess Corp. has awarded INTECSEA a contract for the subsea system, TLP hull and mooring pre-FEED, FEED, and execution support for the Pony project in the Gulf of Mexico.

The work began in mid-September and will be completed in 1Q 2009. Hess Corp. is the operator and sole owner of the lease in Green Canyon block 468 and 469 in 3,200 to 3,800 ft (975 to 1,158 m) water depth. The subsea system scope incorporates all subsea systems including wellheads, trees, jumpers, PLETs/PLEMs/ITAs, flowlines, umbilicals risers, and subsea control systems.

Hess is currently developing a seven-well production plan with three water injection wells and a possible step out of 22 mi (35 km) to a special project referred to as Ness.

The TLP hull and mooring scope include: hull sizing and global performance; design of the hull structure, hull systems, and the tendon moorings and foundations; procurement support including development of RFQ packages for long-lead components; and construction support including RFQ packages.
