Subsea 7 to manage Fossekall-Dompap pipelay

Statoil has awarded Subsea 7 a $180-million installation and pipelay contract for the Fossekall-Dompap project in the Norwegian Sea, offshore the Helgeland coast.

STAVANGER, Norway -- Statoil has awarded Subsea 7 a $180-million installation and pipelay contract for the Fossekall-Dompap project in the Norwegian Sea, offshore the Helgeland coast.

The work scope includes transport and installation of two, four-slot integrated template structures (ITSs) at the Fossekall field, and one four-slot ITS at the Dompap field. Both fields are being developed as tiebacks to the Norne FPSO.

Subsea 7 will also fabricate and install the 25.7-km (16-mi), 12/14-in. (30.5/35.6-cm) ID insulated production pipeline with direct electrical heating (DEH) piggyback cable between the FPSO and Dompap and an in-line tee at Fossekall.

Additionally, it will install manifolds, flexible flowlines and jumpers, a flexible riser, dynamic and static umbilicals, an electrical cable, a DEH riser, DEH feeder cable system, and perform tie-in and pre-commissioning of the full system. And it will fabricate and procure GRP Covers, a riser base, a PLET, the in-line tee and linepipe coating.

All offshore operations are due to be performed in 2012.

Statoil estimates recoverable reserves in Fossekall/Dompap at around 100 MMboe, most of which is oil.
