DOF to install Goliat moorings

Eni Norge has contracted DOF Subsea Norway for marine installations in the Norwegian sector of the Barents Sea.

SANDNES, Norway -- Eni Norge has contracted DOF Subsea Norway for marine installations in the Norwegian sector of the Barents Sea.

The NOK 300-million ($54-million) contract is associated with the Goliat field FPSO, and runs until December 2013.

DOF’s work scope includes fabrication and installation of 14 suction anchors, pre-installation of bottom chain, polyester line, buoyancy elements, temporary mooring of the FPSO outside Hammerfest in northern Norway, and final tow-out and hook-up at the field.

Goliat is scheduled to start up late in 2013, and will generate 150-200 onshore and offshore jobs in northern Norway.
