Statoil receives go-ahead for Gullfaks subsea compression spread

Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has issued consent for installation and operation of seabed compressors on the Gullfaks Sør field in the northern Norwegian North Sea.

OSLO, Norway – Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has issued consent for installation and operation of seabed compressors on the Gullfaks Sør field in the northern Norwegian North Sea.

Operator Statoil expects the facility to enter service in mid-October 2015.

Gullfaks Sør is in license PL50 in water depths of 130-220 m (426-722 ft). It has been developed using subsea installations tied back to theGullfaks complex.
