UK, Iran explore ending North Sea Rhum deadlock

Britain and Iran have held exploratory talks about easing sanctions that have suspended production from the BP-operated Rhum gas field in the UK central North Sea.

TEHRAN, Iran – Britain and Iran have held exploratory talks about easing sanctions that have suspended production from the BP-operated Rhum gas field in the UK central North Sea.

National Iranian Oil Co. has a 50% stake in the field, which was tied back to theBruce production complex. Operations were suspended in 2010 following tightening of sanctions against Iran.
