CALGARY, Canada – Ithaca Energy says the final stages of its Stella development in the UK central North Sea are progressing well.
TheFPF-1 floating production platform sailed from Poland and was safely towed to the field and moored on location, with the dynamic risers and umbilical connecting the subsea infrastructure to the vessel installed as planned.
Technip is currently wrapping up the remaining subsea commissioning work.
Commissioning continues on theFPF-1, with preparation of the topsides processing and utility systems for the introduction of hydrocarbons under way.
Ithaca anticipates first hydrocarbons in November.
The company has also made progress with the program associated with making the switch from tanker loading to oil pipeline exports for theGreater Stella Area in 2017.
Last month, the 44-km (27-mi) spurline from theFPF-1 to the Norpipe system was installed. The main remaining activities are the manufacture and installation of pipeline export pumps on the FPF-1 and the final subsea connections, to be undertaken immediately prior to the switchover.
