    MPL charters Polar Onyx for subsea duties off West Africa

    GC Rieber Shipping has entered a time charter agreement with Marine Platforms Ltd. for Polar Onyx.

    BERGEN, Norway --GC Rieber Shipping has entered a time charter agreement with Marine Platforms Ltd. (MPL) for the subsea, umbilicals, risers, and flowlines (SURF) vessel Polar Onyx.

    It will perform subsea construction/SURF installation andfield development for Chevron offshore West Africa.  

    The charter has a firm period of around one month, extendable by up to a further five weeks.
