Turkey issues TurkStream offshore construction approval

Gazprom has received the first permit from the Turkish authorities for construction of the TurkStream pipeline’s offshore section through the Black Sea.

MOSCOW – Gazprom has received the first permit from the Turkish authorities for construction of the TurkStream pipeline’s offshore section through the Black Sea.

This process is part of the preparatory procedures for resuming the project, which was suspended untilRussia and Turkey normalized their relations.

TurkStream will run 660 km (410 mi) along the old route of theabandoned South Stream project and will cover 250 km (155 mi) of a new route toward the European part of Turkey.
