ABERDEEN, UK –Acteon's UTEC NCS Survey has completed AUV operations for a number of Saipem projects offshore West Africa.
UTEC NCS has done pre-lay and as-laid surveys using its Gavia AUV systems on the Mafumeira and Litchendjili fields, offshore Angola and Congo. Using a GAVIA AUV, an anchor pre-lay side scan sonar survey was carried out in the Mafumeira field to clear the way for barge operations alongside theMafumeira Norte platform.
Pipeline route and barge anchor corridor pre-lay surveys were carried out inLitchendjili in water depths of 3 m to 12 m (10 ft to 39 ft) using the GAVIA’s mult-beam and side scan sonar. The GAVIA was re-deployed to carry out post lay operations along the pipeline corridor to inspect for free spans and other anomalies.
