Deepwater flowline alliance formed
Offshore staff
Pipe coating specialist Socotherm, based in Adria, Italy, and pipe-in-pipe innovator ITP, based in Paris, have formed a strategic alliance to provide heavily insulated subsea flowlines for deep- and ultra-deepwater application. The alliance, which has an initial term of five years, is specifically targeting offshore projects in the Gulf of Mexico, Brazil, and Angola.
Socotherm will offer a package of insulation for risers incorporating its own technology and flowlines featuring ITP's techniques. The latter include pipe-in-pipe systems featuring micro-porous thermal insulation and/or offshore field jointing with resin injection.
According to Socotherm's CEO Zeno Soave, "ITP's technologies complement our multi-pass system for risers made from glass syntactic polypropylene. We can therefore offer an integrated range of thermal insulation systems from subsea wellheads to topsides production facilities to suit more demanding ultra-deepwater projects.
