This month’s issue includes a new offshore industry poster focusing on subsea processing, which includes subsea pumping, subsea compression, subsea separation, and subsea water injection. The poster, titled: 2008 Worldwide Survey of Subsea Processing: Separation, Compression and Pumping Systems, is the by-product of the 2007 Subsea Processing JIP (Phase 1) organized by INTEC Engineering. INTEC Engineering and JIP participants were supportive and open to allow sharing of a portion of the results and research from the JIP.

The poster is a visual and graphical display of the various technologies available to the industry. INTEC and Offshore magazine have tried to capture and to communicate the status of the technology using a “stop light” color coding approach, where green is installed or currently operating, yellow is qualified or currently in testing, and red is conceptual. Graph 1 is a sample of the “stop light” approach to show the historical progress of each discipline technology. INTEC also included a database of historical, current, and future projects, all organized by the primary processing disciplines.

We hope you take the time to study and refer to the poster. Please e-mail INTEC Engineering at [email protected] with your feedback and comments on the poster.
