ABERDEEN, UK – Ashtead Technology has completed a subsea monitoring project using Hydromea’s LUMA high-speed through-water wireless optical modems system.
The two companies signed a global rental partnership last year.
Ashtead’s autonomous structure monitoring systems were integrated with LUMA optical modems for a program for Havfram, in the Norwegian North Sea.
The work scope included the provision of 10 autonomous structure monitoring systems, two for each suction anchor template, and four more to monitor installation of a range of subsea structures.
The monitoring systems were configured for autonomous independent operation, communicating data to one of the installation ROVs. Ashtead Technology deployed the optical modems to enhance the accuracy of the data collected.
