SANDNES, NorwayVår Energi is adopting a new collaboration model concerning the fabrication and installation of subsea equipment for its projects offshore Norway.

The ongoing tender for a new contract for these services covers the company’s entire operated portfolio, and is designed to allow suppliers to deliver solutions jointly via a three-party cooperation.

According to Vår Energi, this is a different approach to the more conventional model involving several separate sub-contracts.

Annethe Gjerde, vice president Procurement & Contracts, said: “We believe strategic co-operation between suppliers will lead to improved and more efficient end-solutions.

“Early involvement in projects secures more efficient planning and implementation. We also believe that the model will provide added value for all parties…”

CEO Torger Rød added: “We see that a broader, long-term and more open collaboration between suppliers and operators reduces costs and increases efficiencies.

“We believe simplification, standardization, and continuous improvement will lead to a more sustainable production of oil and gas.”

The company expects to award the contract for fabrication and installation of subsea equipment during the current quarter.
