MDL supports flexible installations offshore Angola

ABERDEEN, UK – Maritime Developments (MDL) has helped DOF Subsea complete installation of two 6-in. flexible jumpers offshore Angola.

MDL’s flex-lay spread, loaded onto the Skandi Seven vessel in the Mediterranean Sea, comprised a second-generation reel drive system, a four-track pipelay tensioner and an overboarding chute.

Once the vessel had reached Angola, the reel drive system was used to mobilize the product reel, minimizing idle time in port through avoiding the requirement for reel sea-fastening.

Following the offshore installation, the equipment MDL spread was demobilized at a West African port.
