HOUSTON – Santos Ltd. has contracted TechnipFMC to provide the subsea production system for the Barossa gas/condensate project, 300 km (186 mi) north of Darwin, Australia.

Water depth is about 130 m (427 ft).

The contract scope covers the supply of subsea trees and associated control systems, manifolds and wellheads, as well as installation and commissioning support, which will help to extend the life of the existing Darwin LNG facility.

The company said the contract is valued between $75 million and $250 million.

Santos sanctioned the Barossa project last month. Development plans call for a new FPSO, to be supplied by BW Offshore, connected to subsea production wells, new subsea infrastructure and a gas export pipeline tied into the existing Bayu-Undan to Darwin LNG offshore pipeline.

First gas is targeted for the first half of 2025.
