Connector to install Liuhua 16-2 subsea power cable

COOEC Subsea Technology Co. Ltd. has contracted Ocean Installer to install the subsea power cable at CNOOC’s Liuhua 16-2 oil field development in the South China Sea.

STAVANGER, Norway – COOEC Subsea Technology Co. Ltd. has contracted Ocean Installer to install the subsea power cable at CNOOC’s Liuhua 16-2 oil field development in the South China Sea.

This is the company’s second subsea job in China. The work scope encompasses project management, engineering, transportation, and installation as well as various other support functions.

COOEC Subsea Technology Co. Ltd. is responsible for the deepwater SURF (structures, umbilicals, risers, flowlines) EPCI scope.

The project will be managed in close cooperation with the COOEC Subsea Technology team in Shenzhen. Ocean Installer’s project management and engineering team will be based in Houston, and be supported by its main office in Stavanger, Norway.

Ocean Yield ASA’s construction vessel Connector is expected to start installation this summer.

The Liuhua 16-2 oil field is about 240 km (149 mi) south of Hong Kong in a water depth of about 400 m (1,312 ft).
