ExD drilling semi rig to be repurposed for accommodation support

Friede & Goldman (F&G) has signed an agreement with Peak Ocean Offshore concerning the design and engineering for a semisubmersible accommodation conversion.

F&G will serve as design and engineering authority for the project, which involves converting one of its ExD design drilling semis.

Roberto Salinas, Director of Projects at F&G, said, “This project represents a growing trend in the offshore industry - finding alternate uses for drilling rigs to extend asset life and maximize utilization.”
