Noble gets drilling contract extensions offshore Guyana, UK

Nov. 6, 2024
ExxonMobil Guyana has extended the contracts for four Noble Corp.'s rigs.

ExxonMobil Guyana has extended the contracts for four of Noble Corp.'s drillships operating from Q2 2027 to Q3 2028, Noble said in a results update.

In addition, Shell has added 130 days to the Ocean Endeavor’s current assignment in the UK North Sea.

Noble's current global contracts backlog is $6.2 billion. During Q3, 23 of its floating drilling rigs were contracted, including nine from the legacy Diamond Offshore fleet).

Leading dayrates for tier-1 drillships remain in the mid $400,000s to low $500,000s/d range, the company added.

Take-up of Noble's 13 marketed jackups rose to 83% in the quarter, with top-tier harsh environment jackup dayrates staying in the mid $200,000s in Norway and $130,000-$150,000 in the rest of the North Sea.

There are signs of a slight pickup for the jackup market in northern Europe next year, Noble added, although policy and permitting factors could impact activity in the southern North Sea.
