Prosafe wins North Sea Sverdrup hookup support contract

Statoil has contracted Prosafe’s semisubmersible accommodation vessel Safe Zephyrus to support the hookup and commissioning program for the Johan Sverdrup Phase 1 development in the Norwegian North Sea.

LARNACA, CyprusStatoil has contracted Prosafe’s semisubmersible accommodation vessel Safe Zephyrus to support the hookup and commissioning program for the Johan Sverdrup Phase 1 development in the Norwegian North Sea.

Three contract duration scenarios are available to Statoil for nomination in early August 2017; a 12-month firm period from late 2Q 2018, a-12 month firm period from late 3Q 2018 with an additional four months under extension options, or five months firm from late 2Q 2018 plus options for up to 14 further months.

The value of the firm period will be $51-53 million including fuel, mobilization and demobilization, depending on the designated scenario.

Prosafe claims theSafe Zephyrus is one of the world’s most advanced accommodation semisubmersible vessels, offering optimum operability through high gangway connectivity in harsh of environment, and providing 450 beds.

CEO Jesper Kragh Andresen added: “We anticipate that this will position theSafe Zephyrus well for any additional work at the Johan Sverdrup development.”
