Clough signs new subsea vessel

Clough Ltd. has agreed on an eight-year charter of a new subsea operational support vessel.

PERTH, Australia -- Clough Ltd. has agreed on an eight-year charter of a new subsea operational support vessel.

The as yet unnamed vessel will be ready for service in June 2008. Once operational, the vessel will be deployed on various projects and contracts, primarily in the Australasian and SE Asian regions.

The newbuild is an advanced multi-purpose subsea construction vessel developed in cooperation with owner and yard. Measuring 117.35 m (385 ft) long, with a beam of 22 m (72 ft), the vessel is being built with accommodation for 120 people.

The newbuild is designed for construction, subsea operations, diving and ROV services, and will have a work deck area aft of the ROV section of approximately 1,150 sq m (12,378.5 sq ft). The vessel will be equipped with a fully integrated diesel electric propulsion system, a 200-metric-ton (220.5-ton) deepwater crane, an advanced ROV launch and recovery system for two work class ROVs, and a 12-man saturation diving system.
