Bourbon continues massive fleet expansion

PARIS --Bourbon has placed an order for 46 new offshore service vessels.
China-based Sinopacific shipyards will deliver 44 of the units and Nigeria-based West Atlantic Shipyard will deliver two of them.
The order includes 28 GPA 254-designed supply and anchor-handling tugs (AHTS), 14 GPA 654-designed platform supply vessels (PSVs), and four Ulstein PX105 MACS-designed PSVs.
The new vessels will be equipped with diesel-electric propulsion, classes DP2 and FiFi1, and capacity to transport 640 m3 (22,601 ft3) of liquid mud.
According to Bourbon, these new vessels are designed for work in the North Sea and in deepwater, worldwide.
With these additional 46 vessels, Bourbon's Offshore Division now has a total of 110 supply vessels on order as of Feb. 28. The vessels will be delivered through September 2011.
