SES provides jackup thrust

Scandinavian Electric Systems (SES) is supplying diesel-electric propulsion and automation equipment for up to five jackup vessels being built by Lamprell in Dubai. All the vessels have been commissioned by Seajacks International.

BERGEN, Norway --Scandinavian Electric Systems (SES) is supplying diesel-electric propulsion and automation equipment for up to five jackup vessels being built by Lamprell in Dubai. All the vessels have been commissioned by Seajacks International.

The $57.49-million order comprises design, engineering, production, testing, delivery and commissioning of four diesel generator sets; electrical main and emergency switchboards; AFE-type frequency drives; two 1.5 MW electrical main propulsion motors; and two 1.5 MW electrical thrusters motors. SES also will supply DP2 systems, navigation and communications systems.

The self-propelled, four-leg jackup vessels, designed by GustoMSC, will perform maintenance and well intervention tasks in shallow water in the southern North Sea.
