HAMBURG -- Hellespont Group has taken delivery of its fifth platform supply vessel (PSV), the Hellespont Dione, built by Drydocks World in Batam. All four previous sister ships were built in Cochin, India.

According to Hellespont CEO Phrixos Papachristidis, all the new vessels are on long-term (seven-year) charters. “We also have an offshore office in Singapore for the PSVs which is close to key charterers so we can build further relationships.

“That office is developing a cadre of experienced offshore crew directly employed by Hellespont. This gives us a good platform to expand the company to provide third-party management to other operators in the offshore service vessel field."

The Hellespont Dione is a UT755LN type PSV with an overall length of 73.6 m (241 ft), a beam of 16 m (52.5 ft), and 3,250 metric ton (3,582 tons) dwt.
