Ice reinforcement ship Langepas heads to Lukoil’s Caspian fields

Keppel Singmarine Shipyard has delivered the multi-purpose ice reinforcement ship Langepas to Lukoil.

SINGAPORE -- Keppel Singmarine Shipyard has delivered the multi-purpose ice reinforcement ship Langepas to Lukoil. The vessel will perform standby and rescue operations for Lukoil’s Caspian Sea projects.

The ship is 65 x 15 m (213 x 49 ft) with a deadweight of 900 tons (816 metric tons). The ship can operate in temperatures as low as -20° C (-4° F) and navigate 70-cm (28-in.) thick ice.
