VLAARDINGEN, the Netherlands – CASCO Offshore has awarded Ulstein Sea of Solutions (USOS) a design contract for the new DP-3 monohull accommodation vessel CASCO Enabler.

USOS will use the ULSTEIN Deepwater Enabler design as a base case, taking into account CASCO’s functional design considerations.

The 144.6-m (474-ft) long vessel, due for delivery in 4Q 2016, will feature isolated, separated areas for accommodation, along with work areas. An internal atrium will provide daylight in almost all the cabins, which can accommodate up to 800 personnel.

A free-standing funnel stack stationed away from the accommodation should cut out structurally-induced noise. Thevessel complies with the DNV Comfort Class requirements.

A telescopic gangway should facilitate safe and comfortable transfer of crew to platforms. The offshore crane will have a lifting capacity of 50 tons @ 16 m will, although the crane foundation and integration in the vessel hull has been prepared for upgrading to a 500-ton crane at a later point.
