Ensco commissions up to four new jackups

Ensco Intercontinental has contracted Lamprell to build two LeTourneau-design, self-elevating Super 116E jackups.

SHARJAH, UAE – Ensco Intercontinental has contracted Lamprell to build two LeTourneau-design, self-elevating Super 116E jackups.

These will be able to operate in water depths of up to 340 ft (103.6 m) with a rateddrilling depth of 30,000 ft (9,144 m), and will incorporate numerous Ensco proprietary features and specifications.

Lamprell will fabricate both rigs at its Hamriyah yard. They are expected to be delivered during 2Q-3Q 2016.

Additionally, Lamprell has options to build two more jackups of the same design for Ensco, exercisable within six months of the effective contract date. Value of the orders (excluding the options) is around $390 million.
