HELSINKI, Finland – MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has won an order from Bumi Armada Bhd, a Malaysia-based international offshore oilfied services provider, to supply a Pusnes offloading system for an FPSO conversion project. The Pusnes offloading system will be delivered by March 2015.
"By having Pusnes products in MacGregor's portfolio, we are able to offer complete mooring and loading systems for floating production units," says Francis Wong, vice president, Segment Sales, Offshore.
Bumi Armada is using a recently built ice-class tanker for the FPSO conversion, which will take place at Keppel Shipyard Ltd in Singapore. Once completed, FPSO Armada Kraken will have a total storage capacity of 600,000 bbl and will be deployed at the Kraken field in the UK sector of the North Sea.
Also for Bumi Armada, MacGregor will supply equipment for three 80-m (262-ft) ice-class vessels and a 96-m (315-ft) shallow water pipe-lay barge. The vessels are destined for the Caspian Sea, and equipment delivery is scheduled for mid-November.
Two of the three 80-m ice-class vessels are designed for support services, the third is a multi-purpose duty rescue vessel. All will have a 60-metric-ton (66-ton) bollard pull and will be equipped with MacGregor electro-hydraulic windlass/mooring winches, capstans, tugger winches, and storage reels, along with anchor handling/towing winches with a 120-metric-ton (132-ton) line pull and 200-metric-ton (220-ton) brake holding capacity.
The first two vessels will be constructed at Keppel Nantong Shipyard in China, and the third vessel will be constructed at Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd in Singapore. All three vessels are classified with the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS).
The shallow-water pipe-laying barge will be constructed by Romanian shipyard Santierul Naval Constanta SA and classified with Bureau Veritas. MacGregor will supply 10 electric variable frequency drive positioning mooring winches and mooring capstans. Equipment delivery is planned for February 2015.
