PSA rejects AoC for Rowan Gorilla VI

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has turned down Rowan Drilling's application for an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) for the mobile drilling facility Rowan Gorilla VI.

STAVANGER, Norway -- The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has turned down Rowan Drilling's application for an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) for the mobile drilling facility Rowan Gorilla VI.

According to PSA, in its present condition, theRowan Gorilla VI does not meet the requirements for an AoC. The number of new deviations identified through PSA's verifications indicated that the compliance assessments conducted by the applicant in the AoC process were insufficient in scope as well as quality.

This is the first time the PSA has turned down an application for AoC.
