Offshore staff
ROTTERDAM, the Netherlands -- Hercules Offshore has contracted Fairstar Heavy Transport to deliver the jackup Hercules 185 from Pascagoula, Mississippi to West Africa early in 2012.
Fairstar's open stern, semi-submersible vessel Fjell will perform the transportation under a $2.6-million contract.
Fjell has been sailing to Malta and is due to load the Northern Offshore rig Energy Exerter in the Grand Harbour in January. Thereafter, Fjell will head to the Gulf of Mexico to pick up Hercules 185.
Earlier this year Fjell delivered Hercules 185 to Pascagoula under a separate contract.
