CIMC Raffles sends off DWT SS-MPP on sea trial

The 50,000-ton (45,359-metric ton) DWT SS-MPP vessel has left CIMC Raffles’ deep dock and started its sea trial.

YANTAI, China - The 50,000-ton (45,359-metric ton) DWT SS-MPP vessel has left CIMC Raffles’ deep dock and started its sea trial. During the sea trial, several tests will be completed including dynamic positioning, failure modes and effects analysis, and vibration noise.

The DP-2 DWT SS-MPP vessel is 216 m (708 ft) long, 43 m (141 ft) wide, with a design speed of 13.5 knots. Featuring an unmanned engine room and all-moving tail buoyancy tank, it has been classed byABS with character of classification +AMS, +ACCU, +DPS-2, UWILD, CPS, and TCM.
