Tribunal sides with Keppel FELS in rig cancellation dispute

ABERDEEN, UK — Awilco Drilling has issued an update on the termination of a newbuilding semisubmersible rig contract in mid-2020 between Awilco Rig 1 and Keppel FELS.

This followed alleged breaches under the vessel construction contract for hull number 379.

The arbitration tribunal ruling found in favor of KFELS.

Awilco said it was disappointed with the decision and is reviewing the award to determine whether there is a case for an appeal.
