    PGS lines up two vessels for Petrobras 4D survey offshore Brazil

    Petrobras has commissioned PGS to shoot a 4D survey for production purposes over the Barracuda-Caratinga Field in the Campos Basin offshore Brazil.

    OSLO, Norway — Petrobras has commissioned PGS to shoot a 4D survey for production purposes over the Barracuda-Caratinga Field in the Campos Basin offshore Brazil.

    PGS expects to mobilize its Ramform Victory vessel for the acquisition supported by PGS Apollo as a source vessel.

    President and CEO Rune Olav Pedersen said, “We appreciate Petrobras’ recognition of our Ramform vessel acquisition platform in combination with our GeoStreamer technology, which are well suited for large, high-quality 4D acquisition programs.

    “Our visibility for 2023 is improving with increasing rates.”

    Mutually redundant twin engine rooms provide a total power pack of 26.4 MW to drive three 6,000-kW controlled pitch propellers. Ramform Hyperion can tow a full spread of multisensor recording equipment using just two of them.
