SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy — Saipem has netted five new offshore drilling contracts with a combined value of close to $800 million.
In the Middle East, two of the contracts are charters from third parties for the Perro Negro 12 and Perro Negro 13 jackups, for five and three years respectively, for drilling and workover activities.
The third contract is a five-year extension of an existing arrangement for the Sea Lion 7 jackup, which can operate in up to 375 ft water depth.
Offshore West Africa, the Saipem 12000 drillship will shortly start a new program for Eni Cote d'Ivoire, extending its current stay by about six months.
The vessel will then head to Angola to work for Azule Energy, the new joint venture between Eni and bp, drilling, completing and testing development and exploration wells (12 firm) in Block 15/06.
This program, with an estimated duration of 26 months, could be further extended.
