ABU DHABI, UAE – Self-propelled, self-elevating support vessel operator GMS has contracted Lloyd’s Register (LR) to install an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

This will provide the company with a central, cloud-based single source of applications optimized for its different departments, with a view to increase collaboration and streamline various processes.

The Hanseaticsoft Cloud Fleet Manager (CFM) software solution, part of LR’s new Maritime Performance Services portfolio, will also allow GMS to upgrade internal procedures, including the current manual system for crew and inventory management.

The software will integrate vessel operations, maintenance, procurement and inventory control, alongside crew and payroll management. This should result in improved visibility, freeing up more time to support operations and client service.

CFM is a cloud-based solution that provides worldwide access to a uniform knowledge base. It offers apps tailored to cover different areas of operation in support of problem identification and management. It is also Software as a Service-based, with no requirement for additional hardware installations or IT-staff to perform maintenance and administration.

LR’s Hanseaticsoft team will support GMS with implementation of the system, which should be running during 4Q.
