SKUDENESHAVN, Norway – Normand Maximus Operations Ltd., Saipem (Portugal) Comercio Maritimo Sociedade Unipessoal Lda, and Saipem SPA have entered into an agreement for settlement of all claims and counterclaims related to the time charter for the Normand Maximus.

The Solstad Offshore ASA subsidiary had been pursuing legally the unpaid termination fee and other claims following the early termination by Saipem (Portugal) Comercio Maritimo Sociedade Unipessoal Lda, of the time charter party for the construction support vessel.

The settlement entitles Normand Maximus Operations Ltd. to a payment of $48.25 million at the beginning of June 2021. This equals about 96% of the company’s gross claim.

The dialogue for a long-term solution for the lease financing arrangements for the Normand Maximus is ongoing, Solstad said.
