Polar Piltun extends tour of duty offshore Sakhalin Island

Sakhalin Energy Investment Co. has taken up a one-year option for the crew boat Polar Piltun, with the charter for operations offshore eastern Russia now extended through 2021.

YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, RussiaSakhalin Energy Investment Co. (SEIC) has taken up a one-year option for the crew boat Polar Piltun, with the charter for operations offshore eastern Russia now extended through 2021.

In January SEIC entered charter agreements for two vessels with a joint venture company, co-owned by GC Rieber Shipping and Russian partner Prisco.

The Polar Piltun, built in 1998, was converted in 2009 for offshore support duties. The other crew boat, Polar Baikal, will finish its charter later this year.
