Valorem joins French floating offshore wind bid consortium
Valorem has joined the Astenn Avel consortium, formed by Elicio and Q ENERGY.
The three partners plan to jointly respond to the French government’s A09 tender for the extension of a floating wind farm offshore southern Brittany in northwest France.
The proposed development, offshore the coast of Groix and Belle-Île-en-Mer, would increase installed power generating capacity by 500 MW, just next to the Pennavel (AO5) site. All associated infrastructure should be commissioned during 2032-2033.
Valorem says that it brings over 30 years of experience in renewable energy in France and has been active in offshore wind power for more than a decade. Its capabilities include regional coordination, technical design, industrial planning, and promotion of socio-economic benefits.
Elicio, which bid successfully for AO5, develops, finances, constructs and operates wind farms, with over 2.3 GW of offshore wind capacity, including 1.2 GW in operation. It has over two decades of experience in offshore wind power.
Q ENERGY co-developed one of France’s first offshore wind farms in Saint-Brieuc, with a strong regional presence.
